The Ed Harper Memorial Regatta 420 Series Race is a culmination of the six week long learning and sailing of the 2021 Youth Sailing Camp participants. A fun day where sailors, family, friends, and community come together to recognize the accomplishments our students and remember a great community leader and supporter—Ed Harper.

What to Expect if you are Sailing or Viewing:
Saturday, July 31st : The Opti Race
Opti Sailors, Please arrive at the CFYC Clubhouse no later than 9:00 AM. We will walk over to the Cove, move the Optis to the waterline, rig them, and discuss race rules and safety.**
The Opti racing will commence at approximately 10:30 AM
The race course will be held in the Dutchman Creek Cove near the boat ramp. There is ample viewing from the Dutchman’s Creek Park waterline.
Sunday, August 1st: Two-person 420 Series Race
420 Sailors, Please arrive at the CFYC Clubhouse no later than 10:00 AM. We will walk over to the Cove, move the 420s to the waterline, rig them, and discuss race rules and safety.**
The 420 Series racing will commence at approximately 11:30 AM
The first race will begin at Dutchman Creek Cove and will follow a course to the Southport waterfront and City Dock. If weather and winds are favorable, a second race will take place on the waterfront and the third and final race will begin on the waterfront and end back at Dutchman Creek Beach.
You are welcome to view the 420 Series race from the Southport waterfront and City Dock.
**At the end of the race, Sailors are expected to de-rig their boats and help move them on the beach.
*This date/time is all subject to class participation. If we get few students we may decide to combine the two regattas in one day, Optis in the morning and 420s in the afternoon.
