Cruisers, passengers, members. It's that time of the year to start the thinking process of just where we want to cruise this year.

We did Fondue
Under the watchful eye of our Social Chair Judy Bolling, some 35 folks enjoyed the fondues set out Friday evening. The event was headed up by Donna Mandell, Marilyn O'Meara and Eileen Gordon.
They rounded up enough fondue pots to serve some 35 folks from pots of chocolate, cheese, chocolate, and oil.
No one complained about the effort needed to dip and cook veggies, breads, and meats.
Adding a little wine, a great time was had by all. |

Frostbite Regatta in fine art?

| Tony Alderman is a Durham Artist who was in Southport for the Frostbite Regatta.
He was a passenger on the chase boat and photographed the regatta, and has now completed two paintings from that experience.

The South room of the CFYC Yacht Club
named the Neil Holben Room
By Resolution adopted at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 5, 2011, CFYC has named the South Room (Bar Room) of the Club for Neil Holben, Member #175 (1938-2011)
Following passage of the resolution, a framed copy was presented to Carol. A plaque honoring Neil will be hung in the room.

Judy Bolling named Member of the Year
Commodore Jim Craven has named Judy Bolling as member of the year for 2011. The award was presented at the Commodore's Ball, and carries with it a reserved parking spot at CFYC. In making the selection, Craven complemented Judy for her tireless work as Chair of the Social Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors. Carven said Judy led the Social Committee in some of the most successful social events ever. |
